Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “A God who Cannot Lie” – true holiness means something to our God for it is Him who declares that, “...without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Therefore, Beloved, you cannot be considered truly holy and be classified as a “liar” at the same time! Since God has declared through His word the type of character He prefers, you might as well be assured and persuaded that it is the truth; for, according to Hebrews 6:18, “…it [is] impossible for God to lie.”
Precious Ones, what this means is that if God says, “…thy faith hath made thee whole” (Mark 5:34), then you must know that “God cannot lie.” So, we all should look to be whole – physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, sensually, and sexually. A Christian should be completely whole. The apostle Paul told the church at Thessalonica that God wants to do more than just set us apart for His use and that “…the very God of peace [can] sanctify [us] wholly.” Paul shared with them his desire, which should be our desire also, “and I pray [Paul says] God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
Chosen Ones, if we know that “God is not a liar,” then we should expect to see changes for the better in our lives on a daily basis. I believe none of us made the choice to serve God so that life would continue as it did before our commitment to serve Him. On the contrary, I expect a brand new life now and so should you, because He that promised it “cannot and did not lie” when He said it (John 10:10)!
I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this –
I love you all SO very much.
In His love,
Pastor William L. McCoy
