Beloved, in continuation of our theme, “A God who Cannot Lie” – everybody loves to be loved, but have you stopped to consider that even God loves to be loved? There is something in His great, eternal bosom that loves to hear us say, “Lord, I love you.” God will so fill your hearts with love that you will love everybody. Jesus’ love is true, and there is nothing about His love that is a lie. In the words of Jesus, “…I have declared unto them thy name [the Name of God, Jesus], and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:26). Beloved, when you experience the true love of God, you cannot lie either.
Precious Ones, consider this; many people lie because they want to live out their fantasies through fabrication of average events. For example, if they are privileged to go to Los Angeles, California, they wish that they could run into a movie star or professional athlete. So, instead of telling the truth, they would rather live out their fantasy by telling a lie that they had lunch with Elizabeth Taylor, Denzel Washington, or Shaquille O’Neal. Now, consider this; Christians don’t have to live out fantasies, nor do we have to lie, because the love of God already fulfills truthfully every fantasy, and needs no additional lies to make it a reality. Paul explains it this way – “…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (I Corinthians 2:9). When you love Jesus, He fulfills all fantasies truthfully.
I will write more on this subject next week.
I love you all SO very much.
In His Love,
Pastor William L. McCoy
