Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – out of the seven church ages, the one that we should strive to emulate, should be the Church of Philadelphia (Revelation 3:8-13). Why? Because the promises to the “overcomers” of the Church of Philadelphia are deep and wonderful. The prevalent spirit was that of brotherly love. Notice that out of all the church ages, the church that represents “brotherly love,” is the church that received the greatest promises of blessings. I want Anointed Harvest Fellowship Church to continue to “overcome” hate, bigotry, social class prejudices, and so on, so that we, as a church, will receive the blessings of the Church of Philadelphia. Beloved, the secrets of the Lord are with them that fear him (meaning, reverence Him)!
Precious Ones, no man can shut the door that God has opened to his “Philadelphian” saints. Although our strength in and of itself is small and we must rely on Jesus’ name alone, our victory will be great!!! God himself said about the Church of Philadelphia, “for thou hast a little strength,” but “hast kept my word” (Revelation 3:8). (Meaning those of us who preach and live by the truth of God’s word are few in terms of numbers, but we truly are obedient to His word.) God made a promise to us when he said, “Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan…worship before thy feet” (Revelation 3:9). In other words, Beloved, Satan has a church that does not go by the name of the Church of Satan. This is a church “which say they are Jews [meaning born-again believers], but do lie” (Revelation 3:9). This means, Beloved, many churches that camouflage (or disguise) themselves as Christian churches, are bigoted, hateful, social class prejudiced churches. Remember, Jesus already gave us (the true church) the promise that – although these churches seem strong now – they will “worship before our feet.”
Therefore, Chosen Ones, let us not make the same mistakes as these false churches, who “hast…denied [Jesus’] name” (Revelation 3:9). Let us continue to overcome by acknowledging Jesus’ name and by showing true love. Remember, our “victory” will be through the faith in Jesus’ word. Believe me when I tell you that our enemies (both inside and outside of the church worldwide) shall be put to shame – or, as God revealed to Isaiah in the last chapter of his book of prophecy (Isaiah 66:5), “Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word, your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, let the LORD be glorified [meaning we shall see who the Lord will bless, us or you!!!]: but he shall appear to your joy, and they [the false churches] shall be ashamed.”
I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…
I love you ALL so very much.
In His love,
Pastor William L. McCoy
