He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – the spirit of “the woman Jezebel” will rule over nations – not just churches, but the entire world as we know it! This spirit of the love of riches and honor has caused the religious world to compromise and to teach what is right, but to be silent on what is wrong. This spirit has committed fornication (has compromised) with world leaders in this era – it has seduced them to come under Jezebel’s leadership. As a result, many who see the prestige she has gained with the nations of the earth have been reduced to following in her pernicious and destructive ways.

Chosen Ones, many are impressed with the watered-down gospel and doctrine advocated by this spirit. However, to their dismay, Jezebel (the love of riches and honor) will fail as a source of inspiration. We learn in scripture that Jezebel’s agreement with kings will not stand, “For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will…” (Revelation 17:17). In other words, God will organize the minds of the rulers of this earth to rebel against this false doctrine at His given time. In the very next chapter of scripture, Jezebel’s destruction will come, and she and her children (followers) will be cast into a hotbed of great tribulation. (When you make time to study, read Revelation 2:20-24 and 18:1-19:2.)

Precious Ones, this teaches us that we must view watered-down doctrine, designed to please the masses, with caution and violent reprisal. The consequence of false doctrine is much greater than the temporary satisfaction of mass approval.

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – the Thyatiran spirit is the increase of the spirit of the preceding period. The woman Jezebel (who in type represents Roman Catholicism) has taken up the doctrine inaugurated by those of the Pergamos period. For the love of riches and honor, this system has reduced the religious world to eating “things sacrificed unto idols [holding to traditions and not the “word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” – Matthew 4:4], and [committing spiritual] fornication” (Revelation 2:14) - worshipping other gods beside the only true and living God who is manifested in the person of Jesus Christ. Vows of chastity, selling indulgences, hail-Mary’s, and rosaries are not biblical. Today, we are experiencing what God prophesied to Moses just before his death – “thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people [our generation] will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land [those who have no covenant with Jesus – God’s like false doctrine, status, prestige, deception in order to amass wealth, etc]…and break my covenant which I have made with them” (Deuteronomy 31:16).

This Thyatiran, Jezebel-spirit age in which we live not only feeds on doctrines sacrificed to “idol thinking,” but more importantly, this age does not keep God’s thinking (His commandments) any more. Today, the majority of people do not come to church to hear instructions for holy, clean, and righteous living or how to please Jesus. These days, it is all about coming to church to attend a health and wealth seminar.

Chosen Ones, we must “overcome” this mode of thinking. For the few days before we celebrate Jesus birth, we must remember that Jesus came to deliver us out of sin. Overcoming sin should be the number one priority for the Church of Christ. If you live a righteous lifestyle, health and wealth will follow. We, in this age, need to put things in their proper perspective. The scripture says that we should “seek…first the kingdom of God…and all these things shall be added unto [us]” (Matthew 6:33).

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, have a Blessed Christmas and an Anointed New Year.

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuation of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – the revelation of the true identity of Jesus Christ – the revelation that He is God – is offered to all. However, not all will receive this revelation. Yes, it is appalling but true! There are some who will not realize who Jesus is, even though they read in scripture that “at the name of Jesus every knee [shall] bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue [shall] confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11). Even this scripture does not settle it in some Christians’ minds that Jesus is God! Therefore, to these individuals Jesus’ identity remains veiled in mystery, but “to him that overcometh” shall His true self be made known. What do we overcome, Pastor? We must overcome the temptation to follow the majority of opinions about Jesus. By the way, if you are going to be a victorious Christian, you must enjoy being unique, at the risk of being unpopular. That is why Peter said that we (Christians) are “a peculiar people” (I Peter 2:9).

Precious Ones, the reason why many pastors refuse to teach who Jesus really is, is simply because it is hard to understand how Jesus can be “The Son of God” and “God of the Son” all in the same identity. Yet, the scriptures explain that “great is the mystery of godliness” (I Timothy 3:16), so Christians do not have the excuse of remaining uninformed of His true identity. The problem is that many have not “overcome” the doctrine of Balaam (the spirit of preaching in order to obtain riches and honor). Remember, Balaam the prophet was not so eager to speak the words of God, because he wanted to gain honor and promotion from Balak the king (Numbers 24:15-17). Today, the masses identify Jesus as the Son of God only; so many leaders want to accommodate their desires in order to gain wealth, riches, material honor, and glory. They will not speak the true revelation, and Jesus taught us why. He said, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:13-14). For those of you who think that Pastor McCoy is possibly quoting this scripture out of context when it comes to leaders who are teaching false truths about Jesus’ identity, Jesus went on to say, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15). This is what I am talking about when it comes to the “broad” way and the “narrow” way! Let us overcome false teaching.

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – Jesus reminds us that the mysteries found only in our God are “[hidden]…from the wise and prudent, and…revealed…unto babes [simple-minded individuals]” (Matthew 11:25 and Luke 10:21). In order to truly feast on the revelation of Jesus Christ, we must understand that it is the true hidden manna to our souls (see John 6). When John talks about that “white stone” with “a new name written” (Revelation 2:17), only the Holy Spirit of God is able to reveal unto us that this is the same stone that Daniel saw “cut out without hands.” In Daniel’s vision, that stone “smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces” (Daniel 2:34). The image represents nations that will try to assist the anti-Christ to subdue the earth. However, the stone represents Jesus Christ! Even during the tribulation period (which is to come), our God will encourage those who still exist to overcome – not comply with, but OVERCOME the anti-Christ nations!

Precious Ones, in the last days the knowledge of these mysteries will come forth. That “new name” will be Jesus, but no one will receive it (or know it) because Satan and his leaders will attempt to eradicate that Name in the majority of the world. Remember, Matthew taught us that all will not receive Jesus as Savior (Matthew 11:14). That is why it is said, “If ye will believe…” Here is the point – today there are people who are trying desperately to eradicate the Name of Jesus from the minds of the general populace. We must overcome this mode of thinking. Let the saints pray and fast (if needed) to protect our Savior’s Name!

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – if only we, the children of God, could be a little more patient (or, as Dr. Barbour of Jeffersonville said, if we could only hold out 6 more weeks until the end of the year), we shall be given to eat of the “hidden manna,” and shall be given “a white stone” in which is a “new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it” (Revelation 2:17). Beloved, that “hidden manna” is the “true bread from heaven,” Jesus Christ (John 6:32). You must remember that not many people truly know that He is God the Father and Creator of all. If you know Him today, you should feel privileged and grateful. In the Gospel of John alone, Jesus referred to Himself six times as the substance of God, or the “bread of God…from heaven” six times in the Gospel of John alone (see John 6:41, 6:48, 6:49, 6:50, 6:51, and 6:58). In the Book of Revelation, when Jesus says that overcomers will be given to eat of the hidden manna, He includes all the pleasures of wisdom and knowledge. In other words, our God wants to share, with those overcomers He can trust, all of His knowledge. God is not stingy with His knowledge – He just wants to make sure that we, His children, are the only ones who receive it. Can you imagine what might happen if someone who is evil receives the knowledge of God? Can you imagine the kind of destruction that would cause? God is too intelligent to allow someone evil to cause that kind of chaos, so He “hides” His wisdom from evildoers and instructs His children, that “if [we] lack wisdom, [we should] ask of God, that giveth to all men [of faith] liberally, and upbraideth (withholdeth) not; and it shall be given him [in due time, gradually, in stages]” (James 1:5). What I am trying to tell you until next week is that all of our unsettling, confusing situations will make sense in just a little while. Just focus on being an overcomer. I will write more next week.

Until than, know this…

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – the spirit of (or in) the church at Pergamos instituted the doctrines of men at the instigation of Satan, who had succeeded in obtaining “a seat” in the church (see Revelation 2:13). Today, we need to know that Satan has his “seat” in many churches too. The question that we must ask is this; “In this era, are people yearning for a newer and deeper experience in their lives? Are they seeking to place their souls in contact with God, or is their desire motivated by a spiritual individualistic reconciliation with self and others? In other words, is there a quest for a spirituality that teaches us a way to be saved with our sins rather than from our sins?

Precious Ones, I believe that the modern church, like the church at Pergamos, has ceased to instruct others to “overcome” sin. Instead of being fed on the true Word of God, the people at the church of Pergamos were made “to eat things sacrificed unto idols” (Revelation 2:14). As a result, the church was accused by God of “commit[ing] fornication.” The “things sacrificed unto idols” represent “the doctrine of Baalam” – a doctrine that advocated (1) self-love, (2) the love of the wages of the unrighteous, and (3) seeking beautiful men and women to commit adultery in order to bring a curse on Israel (see Numbers 22:7, 17, 37; Numbers 25:1-9; and Numbers 31:8, 16).

Chosen Ones, that spirit is abroad in many churches in the world today. The danger of teaching “self love” (the “doctrine of Baalam”) instead of the love of Jesus Christ is this – people will love themselves so much, that they will not feel a need to overcome anything or any area in their lives. This will lead to total destruction in the church. But in Anointed Harvest, as long as the grace of God keeps me alive, this Pastor will continue to teach (1) the Word of God, (2) the love of Jesus, and (3) how to overcome sin – not live with sin!!

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – we must not forget that in order to overcome, we must not shrink from hard trials and persecutions. Remember, Jesus taught us that “[We] shall be hated of all men for [His] name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 10:22). Saints, we must not faint in these trying hours of our lives. We must not get weary or sluggish either! Paul said, “let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). One of the secret methods of overcoming adversities is to motivate ourselves with the victories that our Lord and Savior blessed with in the past. That is why Paul condones remembering past victories – “call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated [enlightened with instruction on how to be delivered], ye endured a great fight of afflictions” (Hebrews 10:32).

Precious Ones, another secret method of overcoming your challenges is to never lose confidence in the rewards that Jesus will give us for our sacrifices. None of us will endure any circumstance if we feel it is in vain! Again, Paul instructs us well – “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence [compensation] of reward” (Hebrews 10:35).

Chosen Ones, we must remain overcomers by faith in what God said – not necessarily in what we see! It is mentioned four times in scripture that “the just shall live by faith,” but it is only in Paul’s letter to the Hebrews that this revelation is added – “if any man draw back [give up or cease to overcome], my soul shall have no pleasure in him [or her]” (Hebrews 10:38). Therefore, it should not be a choice whether or not we, His children, will overcome. Rather, if we intend for our Savior, Jesus Christ, to receive pleasure from our lives, we must believe that by His grace, we will overcome!

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – those who overcome the spirit of the Smyrnian age, the spirit of persecution, tribulation, poverty, and suffering, will be given a “crown of life” and they “shall not be hurt of the second death” (Revelation 2:10-11). Beloved, the “crown of life” is the gift of life eternal that will be given to the martyrs in the resurrection. Those who enter into life eternal will escape “the lake of fire.” However, those who do not escape will hear our great King and loving God say, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). This is considered the second death. Christ has sent us this warning to prevent us from experiencing that horrific state. He wants us to overcome persecution, tribulation, poverty, and sufferings on this earth. Please do not think that this scripture is written to acquaint us with the “lake of fire.”

Precious Ones, those who will “overcome” sufferings here with Christ have the promise that they will “reign with him” (2 Timothy 2:12). I will have you to know that “overcomers” will not have to wait until they get to heaven to reign with Jesus, either! Paul said that we overcomers “[who have] the gift of righteousness shall reign [both in this life and in eternal life, with the help of] one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17).

Chosen Ones, those who endure the hours of suffering and tribulation – those who overcome – will be given a “crown of life” (not eternal life only, but also life in the present). Wouldn’t you say that it is worth overcoming sin and temptations down here on this earth, considering what is promised to us? Now I truly understand what Jesus meant when He said, “whosoever will save his life [cherish his manner of living] shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life [overcome his lifestyle, sacrifice it, and lay it down] for my sake, the same shall save it [he will invest more into his “crown of reigning life down here on this earth]” (Luke 9:24). Considering the “exceeding great and precious promises” that overcomers have been promised (2 Peter 1:4), it is worth striving to overcome sin – not indulge it! If you make a mistake, keep trying. You must believe that Jesus will help you to overcome your weakness someday! But keep trying!

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – Jesus was speaking of John when He said, “If I will [or choose] that he tarry [wait] till I come, what is that [what business is it] to thee [Peter]?” (John 21:22). This statement was a prophecy that John would not die a martyr’s death, as was foretold concerning Peter (John 21:18-19). This teaches us that all of the saints will have to “overcome” challenges in their own personal measure, and that Jesus is the only One who decides what measure all of us will have to “overcome.”

Precious Ones, with the exception of Judas, all of the other disciples met death by martyrdom, but John passed through all of those trials because he had evidently been “[given] to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God” (Revelation 2:7). Why? The answer is obvious – John must have (in his measure) “overcome”! We know this because scripture says that only those who have overcome will be allowed to eat of that tree (see Revelation 2:7).

Chosen Ones, it is said by some theologians that John died at a ripe old age. Others report that John was translated, and yet others hold to the old tradition that John is still alive somewhere on this earth (like Elvis Presley :-). Beloved, how John died is beside the point. The real issue at hand is that the way in which John lived his life was pleasing to God. It is refreshingly obvious that John did not leave his “first love” (Revelation 2:4). Remember – John was the disciple who was so “in love” with Jesus that he testified in his own gospel that he would lean “on [Jesus’] breast at supper [time]” (John 21:20). Ask yourself the question, “Am I serving the Lord because I’m in love with Him, or have the challenges, difficulties, and hardships of this life stolen my love, causing me to serve Him out of duty instead of love?” If Christians do not get emotional over Jesus anymore like they used to, they have left their “first love” and need to “overcome”!

Children of God, we won’t taste death if we love Him, but we will have “everlasting life.”

He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – I would like to remind my Bible readers that anyone who overcomes the spirit that existed in the Ephesian period of the church shall “eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God” (Revelation 2:7). Yet, God also told John that they must not leave (neglect) their “first love” (Revelation 2:4). Beloved, retaining one’s first love for Jesus Christ is the heart of the life of an overcomer.

Precious Ones, there are many who cherish their first matrimonial love, their first crush, their first car, their first home, etc. However, the beloved apostle John evidently reached the place where he retained his “love” for God. Jesus is my first true Love, and should be yours also. I did not know what love was until I became acquainted with the love my God has for me. I am sure that some of you will admit to that statement. John was considered the “Beloved Apostle” because his letters primarily dealt with the subject of love. God must have known that John was the most loveable of the twelve apostles, and thus He shared His heart with John – He shared things with John that He did not share with the others. Does this not teach us a principle here? If you want God to give you things that He would not give to others, you must “overcome” by showing more allegiance and love toward Him than others.

Chosen Ones, there is more recorded about eternal life in John’s gospel than in all the other scriptural writings, including Paul’s. This teaches us that Love is eternal. To “overcome” all of your adversity, strive to “love” like our God!

He That Overcometh (Part 1)

Beloved, the Lord Jesus Christ has laid a new subject on my heart to minister unto you, entitled simply, “He that Overcometh.” Rarely do we hear of the concept of “overcoming” anymore, because many Christians are taught that they do not have to “overcome” anything. They are taught that since Jesus did it all on Calvary, they can continue to indulge whatever weaknesses they have and expect Jesus’ blood to cover their lifestyle (and I emphasize lifestyle, not errors) of infirmity. While it is true that the blood of Jesus has the power to “[cleanse] us from all sin” (1 John 1:7), Jesus did not shed His blood to give us a license to sin, but rather to give His people the power to overcome it.

Precious Ones, all of the over 32,000 recorded promises of God are to those who overcome – those who are constantly improving and getting better by conquering their weaknesses! According to the Word of God, those who fail to overcome will suffer loss. They will not gain anything. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus reveals to John the promises given to overcomers. “To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God [they shall never taste spiritual death, but will enjoy the luxury of heaven]” (Revelation 2:7). “He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death [they will not know the torment of hell nor the regret of not taking advantage of life in Jesus]” (Revelation 2:11). “To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it [Jesus will give them the power to perform hidden miracles through the “stone” of Jesus’ Name, which is white – full of pure righteousness. Only those who have the revelation of Jesus will receive their healing]” (Revelation 2:17). “[To him] that overcometh…will I give power over the nations [all the areas of the world will submit to overcomers]” (Revelation 2:26). “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels” (Revelation 3:5). In other words, the righteousness of overcomers will be inspired by true doctrine, not false. They will stay in the grace of God to reach heaven, and will receive validation from the voice of God Himself – “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out” (Revelation 3:12). Overcomers will reach a state in God where they are thoroughly convinced of who He is, and they will not be deceived. They will be like the “foundation of the [twelve] apostles” (Ephesians 2:19-22). “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame [overcomers will be just like God]” (Revelation 3:21).

The Glory of the Son of Man (conslusion)

Beloved, this is the conclusion of our series of letters entitled “The Glory of the Son of Man” (which we are, as His children). Greater things than we have ever witnessed are near at hand. The Bible stated it this way, “then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21). The opportunity for the “Glory of the Son of Man” to shine through us, which now apparently lies dormant, may revive and burst forth at any moment. Don’t you want to be a part of that move of God, Beloved?

Precious Ones, the Church is rapidly coming to exemplify “the unity of the faith [the eradication of denominational churches], and of the knowledge of the Son of God [more people acknowledging Jesus Christ], unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).

Chosen Ones, the works that Jesus Christ did in the days of His flesh must also be carried out by the Church in order for the “Glory of the Son of Man” to be manifested. According to scripture, “He that believeth on [Jesus], the works that [Jesus did] shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do” (John 14:12). The people spoken of by the prophet Joel (the Lord’s army of saints, Joel 2:1-11) are about to appear. Even Paul concurred when he prophesied that God “shall come to be glorified in his saints” (II Thessalonians 1:7-10).

Children of God, Jesus prophesied about our time when He said, “Now is the Son of man glorified [manifested], and God is glorified [manifested] in him” (John 13:31). In closing, Beloved, we (the saints) are all members of Jesus’ body, and the glory that He had shall be given unto us, that He might be glorified (see John 17:22). So, let us “walk in the light [of God’s glory], as he is in the light, [so that we can have] fellowship one with another” (I John 1:7).

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – Christians must give constant thought to the fact that the day of God’s redemption is surely near. All creation bears witness to this upcoming glorious event. Jesus instructed the apostle Luke that “there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress [anguish, despair] of nations, with perplexity [confusion, indecision]; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts [their courage] failing them for fear [and panic], and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth [they await the troubles that will overtake the whole world]: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken [the forces in the sky shall be convulsed].” Then “shall they see the Son of Man [Jesus] coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” At that time, it will be too late for those who choose not to believe in our God Jesus, because He will come only to “display His full power and majesty” to the saints. We know this from Jesus’ conclusion on the subject. He said to His disciples (to us, the saints), “when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads [in joy]; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:25-28).

Precious Ones, would you not agree that God can receive His “glory” at any time now? Is it not understood with our 21st-century signs of Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Ivan that wreaked havoc on the citizens of Florida and the eastern central borders? There are many other signs, including the events of September 11, 2001, and, most recently, the massacre of hundreds of child hostages in a Russian school. All of this teaches us that the “Glory of the Son of Man” can be manifested any day now.

Chosen Ones, this is why we need to ask and answer this question – can we really afford to make time for strife, envy, prejudice, bigotry and worldly honor at such a time as this? No – now is the time for God to be “glorified” in His saints so that we can help others. Let us watch and pray.

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – the Apostle Paul’s declaration that “the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (Romans 8:22) teaches us that the whole world has been in pain and sorrow as intense as that of a woman in labor. This has been the case ever since the first World War. I challenge those of you who doubt what I am saying to conduct some research in places (libraries, the Internet, etc.) that keep records of historical news articles. You will find that during that time, the secular press often used a scripture from the same chapter of the Book of Romans to console the torn and bleeding soldiers in the front lines and their broken-hearted loved ones back at home. That scripture was used to caption the famous painting that portrayed a wounded soldier being directed by an angel who said, “I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18). How significant is this painting? Much remains unchanged today. The United States is at war in the Middle East as we speak. Hostages are still being taken, and we are still fighting battles that are not on our soil. This should be a sign to us Christians that if there was ever a time for “the Glory of God” to shine on His sons, that time is right now!

Chosen Ones, while the world is “groaning without” (because of what they see), we who do have the first fruits of Jesus’ Spirit should (as Paul taught) “groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our [bodies]” (Romans 8:23). In other words, we Christians should be expecting complete sonship so that we can have redemption through the new bodies that God has promised us.

Precious Ones, until that time comes, the next best option is to allow the “Glory of the Son of Man” to shine through our vessels of clay. The world needs us! Our God left this on record for us when He said to Abraham, “I will make of thee [My chosen vessels] a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou [the chosen ones] shalt be a blessing [the Glory of God shall shine through His people]” (Genesis 12:2).

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – Conditions in our time have gone from bad to worse. Medical science has failed, in many instances, to cure some of the worst diseases faced by men and women today. The Christian world is beginning to realize that it is possible for health to be restored by the prayer of faith. I say “beginning to realize” because it was once taught that God healed based on moral merit, but today we understand that God has mercy on all of us – including the saints – despite the fact that we are not perfect! The word “mercy” is translated “eleos” in Greek, meaning sympathy (the willingness to feel what another person feels). That is why we are the “Glory of God” – because He feels what we feel. Even though we do not deserve that kind of attention from Him, He gives it to us anyway.

Precious Ones, certain nominal church persuasions have begun to host “weekly healing missions,” preaching healing by the prayer of faith in third world countries and other overlooked areas of the world. Beloved, now is the time for the “Glory of the Son of Man” to shine in this misguided era. How easy it is in this time for God to raise up His people in authority over this generation through a manifestation of His power in us. I am talking about spiritual authority – the kind of which Jesus spoke when He said, “as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him [us] authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man” (John 5:26-27). We, too, can say what Joseph said to His brothers – “I [am] in the place of God” (Genesis 50:19). Beloved, “now are we the sons of God” (I John 3:2) – the “Glory of the Son of Man.” That means we have the same authority!

I will write more later on this subject.

I love you all SO very much.

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – God receives no glory when nations war against each other. Wars have left many nations restless, suffering, and in desolation. When this happens, famine is widespread, and thousands die for lack of medical attention. In many instances, thousands die of preventable diseases and infections because wars have killed many of their physicians; this makes it impossible to deliver even the most basic life-saving treatments to the wounded and suffering. During this time, there is a great opportunity for the Glory of the Son of Man to shine in the lives of His children. The people of God are acquainted with the power of God to heal. King David said, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities [weaknesses]; who healeth all thy diseases” (Psalm 103:2-3).

Precious Ones, we must pray that our God would deploy (send more) troops that have a relationship with Jesus. What a mighty awakening it would be if only one company of Spirit-filled people were to march through afflicted, war-torn areas of the world and heal the people in the Name of Jesus! Instead of Christians sitting on their seats of judgment, debating whether or not it is wrong to join the United States military, we should remind ourselves that if there ever was a time for God to manifest His glory in His Sons to the world, that time is now!

Chosen Ones, we do not live in a perfect world. Therefore, we should not be blind to the concerns of the world that we inhabit. I will bring this lesson back next week, but I leave you with this thought – Mordecai and Esther were also children of God who lived during a time when Israel was in captivity as one of King Ahasuerus’ 127 provinces (see Esther 1:1-2). Remember, when Queen Esther was in a position to stop the annihilation of her people, Mordecai did not command and encourage her to turn a blind eye to what the devil (Haman – Esther 3:6) was doing. On the contrary, Mordecai encouraged Esther now was the time for the Glory of God to shine through her. Mordecai said, “thou art come to [be queen in] the kingdom [of Ahasuerus] for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).

I love you all SO very much.

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – Remember, the prophet Daniel said, “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit…” (Daniel 7:9). On reading this divinely inspired prophecy, most saints ask, “When and how shall these things be, concerning future events? Yet, when we observe this verse more closely, we can discover when these things shall be. When we consider past world developments (the destruction of the Berlin Wall, the Gulf War, etc.), it is evident, that in these times, more “thrones” are being “cast down” than ever before. Today, given the abolition of Apartheid in South Africa and the global market, “uneasy lies the head that wears the crown,” as my grandfather used to say. In other words, as Jesus taught us (Matthew 24:6), “wars and rumors of wars” have set the precedent. In our time, we are losing casualties in the Middle East. This is confirmation of the fact that “My [Jesus’] time is at hand” (Matthew 26:18).

Precious Ones, all of these past and future events lead us to the thought that it is time now for God to reveal to this world “the Glory of the Son of Man.” Beloved, what I am trying to show you through scripture is this – our season to be blessed is right now. Now is the time for God’s “Glory” (His manifestation of blessings) to be shown upon His children (the saints). Do not take my word; let us rehearse the revelation given to the Apostle Paul. He said, “I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18). Paul does not stop there. He goes on to say that “the earnest expectation of the creature [the world of believers and unbelievers] waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God [they are waiting to behold the wonderful sight of the Sons of God coming into their own and inheriting what belongs to them]” (Romans 8:19).

Chosen Ones, I will write more on this subject next week, but consider this – there is nothing in scripture that suggests that we have to wait for “the Glory of the Son of Man” to be revealed in heaven! Remember, “[the] time is at hand” (Matthew 26:18) right now!

I am so blessed to know you all.

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – The Spirit that thrills and vibrates the bodies of the baptized saints today is the same Spirit that made up the “One Body” (I Corinthians 12:12-13) in the days of old. Beloved, this is that “Body” that Daniel saw in his vision of the “Son of Man.” “The Ancient of Days” is Christ in His ancient and eternal glory. Let me pause and instruct the saints that this is why we should not ever be scared to live for Jesus or scared of the powers of darkness. Why? Because we have “the Glory of God” living inside of us! Daniel saw a measure of God’s “Glory.” He said, “I beheld till the thrones were cast down [everyone will humble themselves in His presence], and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame [God’s power inside of us, through His Holy Spirit, can “burn up” all of Satan’s power], and his wheels [God’s glory] as burning fire” (Daniel 7:9). The Apostle John too, could not describe Jesus without mentioning “fire.” This teaches us that our glory ought to outshine and consume that of the powers of darkness.

Precious Ones, the “Son of Man” is the Body of the Spirit-filled saints. I do not want to lose anybody while I am teaching, so let me take this slowly; (1) Jesus Christ is our Lord, (2) but now that He has ascended to His original position, we (the saints) are “His Christ” [His anointed]. “The kingdoms of this world [will] become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ [His anointed ones].” This means that it is only through the saints that the kingdoms of this cosmos (the planets) and of the eons (ages) will be secured as the Lord’s. Through our glory, God will make sure that “He shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).

Chosen Ones, all I am trying to say is that at this time, God has given the saints the same position that Lucifer had in heaven. We are the guardians of God’s anointing. Our lives will determine whether this world will extol Jesus as the King who reigns forever.

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – Let us further explain Daniel’s vision of One like “the Son of [M]an” coming to “the Ancient of [D]ays” and receiving a kingdom (see Daniel 7:13 onward). This vision teaches us in plain words that the ones like the “Son of Man” are the “saints of the Most High God” – the saints of Jesus Christ.

Precious Ones, the saints of the Most High are one in Christ – we are “the glory of the Son of Man.” We, the saints, so resemble the “glory of Jesus” that Paul called us “one body.” Christ is also One Body, and we are Christ’s bodily members – His people. All who are baptized by that “One Spirit” and who live a clean, holy life are members of that one body (see II Corinthians 6:14-18). Just as we are connected together by Jesus’ Spirit, we are also connected to His Spirit as well.

Chosen Ones, this is why Jesus does not mind when the saints are (1) happy, (2) fulfilled, (3) prosperous, (4) Spirit-filled, and (5) healthy. We are the ones who show forth the “glory of Jesus” in our lives to the world of unbelievers! Do you remember reading why God considers us “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people”? Paul explains why in the same scripture; “[so] that [we] should shew forth the praises of him who hath called [us] out of darkness into his marvelous light” (I Peter 2:9). In other words, people will not see “the glory of the Son of Man” unless they see how well He takes care of you! Something to think about – isn’t it?

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Glory of the Son of Man” – Scripture records that Joseph was hated by his brethren (see Genesis 37:4). We are familiar with the story of his brethren casting him into the pit, and of Joseph being sold into slavery in Egypt. He was then falsely accused and thrown into jail, but in the fullness of time he arose from prison and ascended to the throne. The whole purpose of Joseph’s pain was to bring him into future glory.

Precious Ones, do not forget this! Daniel said, “the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High” (Daniel 7:27). He also said that “the time came [when] the saints possessed the kingdom” (Daniel 7:22). Do you see, Beloved? The saints are “the glory of the Son of Man.” We are the “glory” (the manifestation) of Jesus. As the world looks at us, we are supposed to “possess the kingdom of God.”

Chosen Ones, Daniel saw a vision where “one like the Son of man…came to the Ancient of days…And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him” (Daniel 7:13-14). This vision has always been a conundrum (a pun or riddle) to many. To most people, the “Son of Man” refers to Jesus Christ. This is true in a sense, but there is a deeper revelation. In plain words, the “Son of Man” refers to the “saints of the most High.”

Children of God, this means that God has given us the position that Jesus held when He was on this earth; we are Sons of God. That is why John said, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God” (I John 3:2). Now, Jesus has a higher position; He is back into Fatherhood. That is why Paul said, “it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell” (Colossians 1:19). The saints are now His “glory.” Jesus is back in the spirit realm, so all the dominion He had on this earth is ours if we accept it.

The Glory of the Son of Man (continued)

Beloved, the Lord Jesus has inspired me to write unto you from a new theme entitled “The Glory of the Son of Man.” Beloved, it is my endeavor to share with you the finest teachings from the Word of God that He shares with me. Beloved, the manifestation of the sons of God is evidently near at hand. “[T]he whole creation [Romans 8:22] groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now [even the year 2004]” for that grand and glorious event - the Rapture of the saints of God to His heavenly City, prepared for us. It must come; it shall happen! It will come and it will not tarry (see Habakkuk 2:3).

Precious Ones, for many years, men and women of God have been teaching on this subject of “The Rapture.” Some have given up hope. Yet, many hearts have been made to rejoice when they behold what the future holds in store for them that love Him. Even I, your humble servant, through the help of the Holy Spirit, have taught on this subject several times in almost nine years of ministry. According to the Apostle Paul, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, [even] the deep things of God” (I Corinthians 2:9-10). This revelation of Paul should cause this congregation to rejoice! The sons of Korah, the praisers, said, “Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God” (Psalm 87:3). Beloved, the “City of God” refers to the spirit-filled saints – the Bride of the Lamb. The Bride will be given power to rule over nations. That’s why the scripture says, “[H]e that overcometh, and keepeth [God’s] works unto the end, to him will [He] give power over the nations” (Revelation 2:26). This is a great part of the “Glory of the Son of Man.” Saints, we are His glory.

Chosen Ones, why do you think Jesus said, “Whosoever…shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels” (Mark 8:38)? I’ll tell you why; to teach those who despised the followers of the lowly Nazarene (Jesus) – those who rejected, scoffed, and ridiculed Him – that these same followers will one day rule the nations! Remember, “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

God's Masterpiece (conclusion)

Beloved, in conclusion of this series, “God’s Masterpiece” – Those of us who are considered righteous by God know that when our bodies die, our spirits will depart to be with Christ in Paradise. Remember the message Jesus inspired me to preach to you, entitled “I’ll Never See the Inside of a Grave”? Well, Paul reveals this truth when he says, “For I [Paul] am in a strait [dilemma] betwixt [between the] two, Having a desire to depart, AND TO BE WITH CHRIST; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you” (Philippians 1:23-24). In other words, Beloved, God will not allow His “Masterpieces” (the righteous Spirit and Soul) to ever experience the torment and discomfort of death. Paul reinforces this even more when he says, “I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are ASLEEP, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13). In other words, Beloved, at death the souls of the righteous will be at rest, sweetly sleeping in Christ.

Precious Ones, “God’s Masterpiece” (the righteous Spirit and Soul) will be united in a glorious body and shall enter into that realm of life eternal where there shall be no death, no night, no sleep, and no sorrow—nothing that would disrupt the feast of never-ending joy in the presence of the Lord. In conclusion, Beloved, one of Webster’s definitions of a masterpiece is “A work done with extraordinary skill.” Beloved, if we continue to live righteously, then, with our new bodies fashioned for eternal life, we will see God’s masterpiece as a work done with extraordinary skill. David said, “As for me, I will behold Thy [God’s] face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, WITH THY LIKENESS” (Psalm 17:15) – we will be like Him!

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – When the Body awakes the morning of the Second Resurrection (the one in which all of God’s creation will be judged according to their works), events will occur as recorded by John – “I saw a great white throne….And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God…and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it….And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11-13 and 20:15). God will have created a “new Masterpiece.” This body will awake expecting relief, but it will find that its judgment will be punishment, which in reality, will have just begun.

Precious Ones, this is why we must glorify God with this “Masterpiece,” as instructed in I Corinthians 6:19-20. Why? Because only now can this masterpiece be “the temple of the Holy Ghost.” After the rapture of the saints, we will be with the Holy Ghost and there will be no need for the Holy Spirit to have a temple to dwell in! Paul puts it this way, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price (Calvary): therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Chosen Ones, this means that “God’s Masterpieces” (the Body, Soul, and Spirit) are recording all of the works that we are doing now, so that when we stand before God in the end, we will not be punished (as those who will be cast into hell). Let us pay attention to the status of our own “Masterpieces.” Again, Paul says that we do not have time to judge others, but must “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12).

I will write the conclusion of this series of letters next week. Until then, know this…

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – There is an important revelation that we must understand – a revelation concerning the way our God masterfully ordained the Spirit to occupy our bodies. When the Spirit of a man returns to the God that gave it, the dead body is not aware of anything that transpires from that point onward. However, the man’s Spirit will always know what transpires after the death of the body. His spirit might exist in a state of great torment, waiting to be judged (that is, waiting to be questioned by God to the condemnation of the soul). On the other hand, his spirit might exist in a state of eternal peace, waiting to enjoy eternal life. This revelation is supported by scripture - “Who knoweth the Spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast [sinners and animals] that goeth downward to the earth? Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion…” (Ecclesiastes 3:21-22). We also learn from scripture that “the dust [the body of man, shall] return to the Earth as it was [at the time of death]: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it” (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

Precious Ones, remember that the Soul records the deeds of the Body, as witnessed by the Spirit. Therefore, when a wicked man dies, his soul feels the weight, guilt, and condemnation of all the evil deeds that his spirit witnessed during his life. The spirit of that wicked man is tormented by remorse and terrified of the fate that awaits him! “God’s Masterpiece” (the Soul) is harassed while sleeping, like a man with wicked, horrible, tormenting dreams. The only difference is that the body is dead, so it cannot wake up. The nightmare never ends.

Chosen Ones, this is why we must never allow sin to contaminate “God’s Masterpiece” - no one will feel the effects of our transgressions like we will!!! Do you see now why God (Jesus) said, “the Soul that sinneth, it shall [surely] die” (Ezekiel 18:20)?

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – You must understand that when the bodies of humans are delivered up to death and the grave, the deeds that their bodies performed while they were alive are still imprinted on the Soul. You must also understand that the Soul and the Body (“God’s Masterpieces”) enter the grave together. This is why it is important to make sure that you keep the soul clean of any condemned deeds while you are alive. If you do not, your soul will be uncomfortable and in torment while you wait to be judged by the only true and living God who knows that you are guilty!! On the day that Peter received the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4), this process was revealed to him. Peter knew about King David, “a prophet [to whom] God had sworn…that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ” (Acts 2:30). With this knowledge, Peter was able to proclaim “Thou [O Lord] hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy” (Acts 2:28). How? “Because thou wilt not leave my Soul in hell [or torment because I did right while I was alive], neither wilt thou [God] suffer thine Holy One to see corruption [to burn in the Lake of Fire prepared for Satan, his angels, and every unbeliever]” (Acts 2:27).

Precious Ones, we must guard “God’s Masterpiece” (the Body) from any sins against God so that “God’s other Masterpiece” (the Soul) can comfort us when it is time for our bodies to die.

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – The modern purchasing plan beautifully illustrates the purpose of the Spirit, Soul, and Body and their final disposition. An article is purchased, the salesperson enters the amount in the computerized register, and the register prints out two copies of the transaction at once. It prints the price, date, and description of the article on what is called the original and the duplicate bill. Especially when a credit or debit card is used, the goods that are purchased receive the original copy, while the duplicate goes with the purchaser of the items (or the cardholder). If any questions arise upon the time goods are returned, as long as the holder of the duplicate bill furnishes their copy of the bill, judgment is rendered according to the records of the two bills. So it is with the Spirit, Soul, and Body – all three of “God’s Masterpieces.”

Precious Ones, the Body is the article of purchase. The Spirit and the Soul are the two bills – the original and the duplicate, respectively. The records of bodily action originate with the Spirit and are duplicated in the Soul. Paul explains this sequence of events in II Corinthians 1:23, “Moreover I call [which is this Body] God for a record [a spiritual recording] upon my soul [which is duplicated in the Soul].”

Chosen Ones, the lesson we are to learn thus far is that God created us so masterfully that when the Body reacts to something, if affects the Spirit and the Soul. That is why we must guard what we place in our bodies. Remember the reason Isaac gave Esau for wanting his hunger satisfied in Genesis 27:4? Isaac said, “make me savoury meat [appetizing meat], such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat [the Body]; that my Soul [the reaction of the Body’s satisfaction] may bless thee before I die.” Beloved, this is a good reason why Christians should not consume alcohol and drugs and overeat or eat foods that are not healthy. When your Body produces bad habits, your Spirit and Soul copies what you purchase with your lips!

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – When “the Soul” has new records of “God’s Statutes and Commandments,” it becomes easier for men/women to walk and live righteously; just as easy as it was for them to live wickedly in their former life. Paul puts it this way, “And you [meaning “God’s Masterpieces” of spirit-filled children] hath he quickened [or raised from death to life spiritually in “the Soul”], who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world [or the habits of this world], according to the prince of the power of the air [Satan], the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience [in other words, Satan’s spirit is still at work among those who disobey God’s commandments]” (Ephesians 2:1-2).

Precious Ones, we have so much to be thankful for, because there are many who have been cleansed with water baptism in Jesus’ Name and have even been filled with the precious Holy Ghost, but fail to get God’s truth hidden, or engraved, in their hearts. As I have said in earlier editions of this letter, “God” intended that both of His “masterpieces” would complement each other. The “Masterpiece” of “His Word” should accompany “God’s Masterpiece” of “the Soul.” The two must work shoulder to shoulder and side by side. Only then, Beloved, can we live a productive life. The Psalmist puts it this way, “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart [or my soul], [here is the benefit!] that I might NOT sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11).

Chosen Ones, there are several other places in the scripture that support the fact that “the Soul” can only grow through the knowledge of God’s Word. God says, “My people are destroyed for [or because of] lack of knowledge [and] because [they] rejected [my] knowledge, I [have rejected them]” (Hosea 4:6). Paul says, “Therefore [for this reason] we [saints] ought to give the more earnest heed [or pay much closer attention] to the things which we have heard [from God’s Word], lest at any time we should let them slip” (Hebrews 2:1).

Children of God, we must understand that in God’s eyes (which are the only eyes that count to me!) we are His greatest “Masterpiece,” his greatest accomplishment. This is why everything He has prepared for us is the Best!!! They are all found in His Word – His other masterpieces He designed for us! This is why Peter said, “Whereby [or it was through this] are given [past tense] unto us [saints] exceeding great and precious promises: that by these [promises found in the Word] ye might be partakers of the divine nature [the nature of the soul’s ability to believe in God’s Word], having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:4). We should appreciate God’s Word!!

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuation of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” - when a soul is cleansed, the Holy Spirit comes to place new records in that soul, so that “God’s Masterpiece” (the body of man/woman) might be able to perform the will of God. This is how we “walk in newness of life.” The only way that the soul is cleansed is through God’s ordination of water baptism, as trivial as it may sound. Do not take my word for it. Paul explains that there is only one way to “walk in newness of life” – “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ [the Body] was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father [the Spirit], even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).

Precious Ones, it is only through the Holy Spirit that Jesus will “put [His] laws into [our] mind [our spirit], and write them in [our] hearts [our soul]” (Hebrews 8:10 and Jeremiah 31:33. Also read John 14:26 and 16:23).

Chosen Ones, “God’s Masterpiece” was created with a mind that contains the realm of all the spiritual activity, while the heart is the seat of the soul’s affections. Beloved, the only source that will satisfy your heart is Jesus—”The Rock of Ages.” That is why David said, “when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2).

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – Though the Spirit may be inclined towards righteousness, yet it cannot do the things it desires to do on the account of the soul being, as it were, filled with the engravings of past affections. Hence there is a struggle between “God’s Masterpiece” of “the Spirit” and “the Body.” Why? It is simple, because “the body” is inclined to fulfill deeds recorded in “the Soul,” while “the Spirit” endeavors to perform the works of righteousness. This is why Paul said, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me;” (in other words, the desire to do right is there, but my body does not have the power by itself). This is why he continues, “but how to perform that which is good I find not” (Romans 7:18). Beloved, I encourage you to read Romans 7:9-25. Paul displays in these verses genuine convictions unto godly sorrow, working repentance unto salvation.

Precious Ones, there is nothing that can remove those evil recordings engraved in our souls (or our hearts), but faith in the blood of Jesus who is the “Bishop of [our] souls” (1 Peter 2:25). “God’s Masterpiece” is so valuable to him that we find God making provision for his “Masterpiece” to receive the deliverance we need. When Paul shows the true cry of a penitent spirit, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” (Romans 7:24) we find that Paul tells us of God’s provision he made for his “Masterpiece” to receive healing and deliverance. Paul says, “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 7:25). In other words, “God’s Masterpiece” “can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth [us]” (Philippians 4:13). Beloved, when a soul reaches that state he/she should be taught full faith and obedience in the commands of God. This soul (the soul that relies solely on God) is a candidate for miracles because of its acquaintance with God! “[T]he people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits” (Daniel 11:32).

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – The psalmist says that man is “estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies” (Psalm 58:3). In other words, all of us were born liars! Yet, it is amazing that, even though Adam put us in jeopardy by breeding a creation of liars, God’s Master-Mind created within us something that would serve as a regulator, a central mechanism, to prevent us from destroying ourselves in our deceitful nature. That central mechanism is our conscious – our soul (often referred to in the scriptures as “the heart”). Remember, God destroyed the first set of humans and only allowed Noah and his family to escape because “God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5).

Precious Ones, this teaches us that if we do not want “God’s Masterpiece” (our human selves) to be destroyed, we must have testimonies of the same nature as the sons of Korah. We must avoid destruction by saying, “[Our] heart and [our] flesh crieth out for the living God” (Psalm 84:2). This is accomplished only by the preaching of the Gospel! It is only the preaching of the Gospel that stirs man’s spirit to seek after righteousness. If you do not want to take my word for this, let us rehearse what Paul said in his letter to the Roman church – “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation…[f]or therein is the righteousness of God revealed” (Romans 1:16-17). So, our “Masterpiece of God” must be compatible with another “Masterpiece of God” – our souls and God’s Word must complement each other.

God's Masterpiece (continued)

Truly, Beloved, you all exemplify our series of letters entitled “God’s Masterpiece.” Let me start by saying that the soul is the subconscious realm of human activity. In the soul reside the desires or affections which are gathered by the Spirit from the mental realm, and then carried out as actions by the body. In other words, the soul is to the body what CDs are to a CD player – whatever is imprinted in the soul will be acted out unconsciously by the body. This is why the psalmist says that it is imperative that we “[hide the] word…in [our] heart, that [we] might not sin against [God]” (Psalm 119:11). King David concurs with that thought when he said, “Behold, thou [God] desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part [the conscious] thou shalt make me to know wisdom” (Psalm 51:6).

Precious Ones, understanding all of this, we now know that when “the Masterpiece” (or the conscious) that God created in a man or woman begins to reach out after evil things, evil impressions are stamped upon that soul, resulting in evil deeds, wicked works, and ungodly practices.

Chosen Ones, this is why it is very important to not only exercise the body (which is also God’s Masterpiece), but also to exercise the mind. God wants to open up deep revelations to all of us, concerning what He has prepared for us to receive as a reward for trusting Him. However, these deep revelations are what Paul calls “strong meat,” which not everyone is ready to receive. Paul says that “strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age [spiritually, not chronologically], even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14). So, give more attention to the inward man (the conscious) than to the physical man (the body). Remember, Paul said that the outward man is the one that we least profit from. According to Paul, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things” (I Timothy 4:8).

God's Masterpiece (Part 1)

Beloved, this Sunday I have been instructed by the Lord to write unto you from a series of letters entitled “God’s Masterpiece.” Man is a wonderful creature, consisting of spirit, soul, and body. All that is visible is the body. Yet, it is the totality of man that is considered the “Masterpiece of God’s” workmanship. That is why King David said, “I will praise thee [God]; for I am fearfully [respectfully] and wonderfully [miraculously] made” (Psalm 139:14). In other words, God had so much respect for the uniqueness of the human creation that he miraculously did not create anything like man. Nothing like man has ever been brought into being.

Precious Ones, we know that the body of humankind was “formed…[of] the dust of the ground.” We know that God “breathed into [man’s] nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). In other words, the union of the Spirit and the body apparently produced the soul.

Chosen Ones, the soul is never separated from the body – it is the seat of affections. Apparently, the Apostle Paul knew this when he wrote to the church that he established at Colossi. Paul said, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead [or are supposed to be dead to the fleshly desires], and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. [So] mortify [kill]…your members which are upon the earth” (Colossians 3:2-5). In other words, the soul is the subconscious realm of human activity and it cannot be separated from the body. When the soul is condemned, the body is also condemned. John calls “the heart” the conscience. He says, “if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things” (I John 3:20). This means that when our conscience condemns us, God already sends that signal to the mind, and consequently this results in the whole aura of man to be condemned. So, Beloved, whatever the soul feels, “God’s Masterpiece” feels it all over.

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…

The Allegories in the Book of Job (conclusion)

Beloved, in conclusion of this series of letters entitled, “The Allegories in the Book of Job” – Job believed in God before he received 140 more years of prosperity. He “saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations” (Job 42:16). Job, even during his time of trial, believed that God would resurrect him out of his troubles. Notice, he said, “all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come” (Job 14:14). This teaches us that we (as God’s children) who are called to suffer for His honor must exemplify “That [we] be not slothful, but followers of them [like Job] who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12). In other words, Beloved, we should not hesitate to believe that God is going to resurrect us out of our miseries too. When we hesitate to believe God, we are being slothful, and we are not “following them” who are our examples of how to have faith in God!!!

Precious Ones, the scripture emphasizes in four different places that “the just shall live by faith” (see Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, and Hebrews 10:38). Whenever you find a passage in scripture that God allows to be emphasized more than once, you must know that it is an important principle and key to the Kingdom of God. Many Christians forget this principle. However, one of the main “Allegories in the Book of Job” teaches us that even though our conscience has accused us of our lack of faith, the law has condemned us about it, and the prophets have reproved us about it; thank God, there is a “daysman betwixt us [who has bridged the gap created by sin and has laid]…his hand upon…both [God and man]” (Job 9:33). The only one who has bridged that gap – through His suffering on the cross of Calvary – is Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Finally, Chosen Ones, Job’s allegories teach us that we can have one, a couple, or even a few friends who, based on speculation, feel that we deserve to be punished. But I am glad that Job has taught us that it matters not what people think. All that matters is what God knows about us.

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Allegories in the Book of Job” – Remember, it was through faith and patience that Job endured the terrible ordeal of trials permitted by his God. Then, in the end, he obtained multiplied blessings. Beloved, hear me when I tell you this – it is only through faith and patience that we, as Christians, will also endure the terrible ordeals and trials permitted by our God! Wasn’t it promised that “the trying of your faith [will work] patience” (James 1:3)? Wasn’t it also promised that if you “let patience have her perfect work…[you will] be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:4)? Wouldn’t you say that the phrase “wanting nothing” constitutes obtaining multiplied blessings in the end?

Precious Ones, it was also Job’s undaunted courage and confidence that sustained him. Without even being able to see his invisible deliverance, Job still hoped in a resurrection that had not been taught to him, and this gave him strength to press his claim. Did you read about Job’s faith? “If a man die, shall he live again?” Job had to ask this question because no one had yet taught him the answers. He went on to say, “all the days of my appointed time [alive on this earth] will I wait, till my change come” (Job 14:14).

Chosen Ones, because of Job’s courage and confidence in the Lord, God would not leave him in the dark concerning this question. Obviously, God revealed the truth onto Job. We know this because Job later declares, “I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth” (Job 19:25). Job saw Jesus long before He was manifested! The allegory in this teaches us that we must also have undaunted (unpersuaded) courage and confidence to sustain us through this earthly life. Paul said, “I am persuaded, that…[nothing]…shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord [and Redeemer]” (Romans 8:38-39). This allegory also teaches us that when we refuse to be discouraged by circumstances that seem to have no visible answer or deliverance, but rather trust our God in areas of our lives where no one has ever taught us how to make it through, God will not leave us in the dark about how to escape out of those circumstances. Remember, David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [God] art with me” (Psalm 23:4).

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme “The Allegories in the Book of Job” – When man was deprived of the happiness of Eden, he lost all that he had, because of his sinful choice. Like Job, Adam could say, “the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away” (Job 1:21). However, Job, unlike Adam, offered homage (payment) unto God with praise and thanksgiving, “blessed be the name of the LORD” (Job 1:21). When Adam sinned, all he offered to the Lord was an excuse, “The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat” (Genesis 3:12). It is no wonder that “the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning” (Job 42:12), as opposed to Adam, who had everything in the beginning and lost everything in the end (see Genesis 3:24). God drove Adam out of the place of his blessings!

Precious Ones, this teaches us in allegory that God prefers praise over excuses. The story also teaches us that if we continue to lift Jesus up in praise and worship, the latter days of our human existence will be glorious and will far exceed anything that our natural eyes have beheld. It is written that “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (I Corinthians 2:9).

Chosen Ones, let us not follow the pattern of Adam, but rather that of Job. Let us “bless the LORD at all times [and let] his praise…continually be in [our mouths]” (Psalm 34:1).

I love you all SO very much.

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Allegories in the Book of Job” – The departure of Elihu is as mysterious as his appearance. Remember, Elihu, the youngest of the group, was used by God to rebuke Job’s three friends for their unjust comments to Job. In the closing of Elihu’s remarks, he exhorted Job to “stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God” (Job 37:14). Then we learn, without a pause in events, that Elihu’s presence was swallowed up by the presence of God when He spoke to Job out of a “whirlwind” (Job 38:1). Where is the allegory in this? On the day of Pentecost, the testimony of Christ was confirmed by “a rushing mighty wind” (Acts 2:1-4 and Matthew 10:20). The Almighty God spoke through the Holy Ghost.

Precious Ones, this is why it is important to have the Holy Spirit resting within us. The Holy Spirit is God’s confirmation that He is with us. The Holy Spirit is better than “the Ark of the Covenant” that Israel needed in order to feel the nearness of God’s presence. Not only is the Holy Spirit better because He resides in us (instead of having to be carried with “staves” or rods from place to place), but the Holy Spirit will also perform the action of a “whirlwind” every time we need confirmation to know the will of God. Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water [a whirlwind action in the soul]” (John 7:38). The scripture goes on to tell us what Jesus was talking about when He made this statement – “this spake [Jesus] of the Spirit…for the Holy Ghost was not yet given” (John 7:39).

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Allegories in the Book of Job” – Even though the Lord’s “yoke is easy, and [His] burden is light” (Matthew 11:30), that fact by itself is not the ultimate encouragement. Rather, just as Elihu was the end of the arguments of Job’s three friends, even so Christ was the end of the accusations, condemnation, the Law, and the prophets. Therefore, I am encouraged to know that Christ’s yoke is not only easy, but that it also destroys any yokes that the devil tries to put on us. Some of you may read Job’s story and say, “I wish God could contend with Satan over me, but I know that I’m not as trustworthy as Job!” – as if to discourage yourself by thinking that God cannot brag about you! This is far from the truth! God had to contend over Job because He had not yet atoned for Job’s sins. You, on the other hand, have a different testimony; there is no more contention for you because what Jesus did at Calvary ends all discussion about you, just as Elihu ended all discussion about Job.

Precious Ones, Jesus taught the disciples this on the Mount of His Transfiguration. When Moses (representing the Law) and Elijah (representing the conscience of man and the prophets) appeared, they were silenced by His voice and removed, and only Jesus was left standing in the midst of the disciples. This taught them that they did not need to build a tabernacle for Moses or Elijah (Matthew 17:4, Mark 9:5). All they needed was Jesus, and all we need is Jesus. He alone is the answer to all of our problems – Hallelujah!

Chosen Ones, don’t read the Bible and be discouraged by the high standard that we must achieve to live a holy life before our God! Rather, let the scripture encourage you in two ways: (1) When you read what God requires and notice that you have failed to measure up to the standards of the scripture, remember to also notice the grace and mercy that God gives you. Notice the time He allows all of us to get it together. (2) Be encouraged to know that today Satan can no longer try to influence or even challenge God as he did in Job’s time – Calvary ends all arguments!

I will write more on this subject next Sunday. Have a very happy and blessed Easter.

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Allegory in the Book of Job” – The dispensation of The Law tried to reprove Job through the spoken judgments of his friends. This was obviously of no help to him – otherwise, God would not have had to reprove Job Himself through a “whirlwind” (Job 38:1). This teaches us through allegory that Isaiah was right when he said that “the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear” (Isaiah 59:1). God can handle being the Judge over His people without any assistance from man!

Precious Ones, please do not misunderstand; there are times when God uses men to stand as His representatives to judge men’s sins. The sudden appearance of Elihu (the youngest of Job’s friends, Job 32:2), who silenced the arguments of Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, is an allegory (image) of Christ Jesus coming “suddenly” to this earth as a “daysman” or mediator between God and man. (Take the time to read Malachi 3:1; Luke 2:1-14; and Matthew 3:13-17).

Chosen Ones, as Elihu was in God’s stead to judge the reproaches of Job and his friends (Job 32:6), even so was Christ made like unto sinful flesh to take away our reproach and sins. Elihu was gentle with Job, and told him “my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee” (Job 33:7). These words are an allegory of the words of Jesus when He said, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). Jesus does not desire to make us afraid of Him or to make it hard on us. His desire is simply to cause us to repent (change our way of thinking).

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Allegory in the Book of Job” – The cry of Job, in his misery, for a “daysman” (or mediator) who could “lay his hand upon…both” (Job 9:33), himself and God, and his yearning cry, “Oh, that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!” (Job 23:3) most wonderfully portrays the craving of the human heart for the Savior, who could connect both man and God, and link a communication between the two that would fulfill the need of man to have a satisfying relationship with God!

Precious Ones, this metaphorically shows us in “allegory” (or in image) that the conscience condemns man (or woman) when there is no communication with his Creator God (whose name is Jesus). Beloved, this is why Paul wrote, “[T]he gentiles [or sinners], which have not the Law [or know what God requires from his word]…by nature [or without anyone convicting them]…are a law unto themselves [or are condemned by themselves!]” (Romans 2:14). Paul goes on to explain, “[T]heir conscience also bearing witness” (Romans 2:15) (in other words, it is their conscience that condemns them, not the church or people).

Chosen Ones, the first stage, “the Allegories found in the Book of Job,” teaches us that the word of God, when it is heard by teaching or preaching (or “the law”), condemns man (or woman) as well! Paul explains this in II Corinthians 3:9, “For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.” (In other words, if preaching instructions of the condemnation found in the laws of God bring glory to the holiness of God’s character, how much more glory do you think one who believes that these words in the Bible are “right” brings to God’s character?) However, Beloved, nothing could show man how to escape his wretched condition like God did through Jesus Christ. I am so glad that we do not have to “find” Jesus – in these days He makes himself available!

The Allegories in the Book of Job (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Allegory in the Book of Job” – To offset the spirit of worship, Satan caused the world to be filled with sin and violence. After Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, man’s fate was sure to be that none would ever be good, no not one! The human family was in “the image” of God’s tribulation (remember I told you that the word “allegory” means the description of one thing under the image of another) – the human family was full of “wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores” – “the whole head [was] sick, the whole heart [was] faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there [was] no soundness in it” (Isaiah 1:5-6).

Precious Ones, the “allegory” of the three friends of “Job” are the Conscience (Eliphaz), the Law (Bildad), and the Prophets (Zophar). Just as these three men’s council was unprofitable to help Job out of his condition, even so the Conscience, the Law, and the Old Testament Prophets were unable to deliver man from his miserable, loathsome state.

Chosen Ones, today only the blood that Jesus shed on Calvary has the power in and of itself to atone for all of our depraved Consciences and cleanse us from the disobediences of God’s Laws and even the words of God’s Prophets. Paul explains, “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself [no one made him do it!] without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works [or the Old Testaments Laws] to serve the living God [as the Old Testaments Prophets did]?” (Hebrews 9:1)

The Allegories in the Book of Job (Part 1)

Beloved, I feel led to write unto you from a new subject entitled “The Allegory in the Book of Job.” I am sure you know that the word allegory means symbolic representation. The Book of Job has much to teach us in this respect. There can be no doubt that there was a man whose name was Job. How do we know? Well, God classifies Job with Noah and Daniel (see Ezekiel 14:14). Also, in the Book of James (James 5:10-11), we refer to Job’s patience in connection with the prophets of the Lord. Within the record of Job’s life is concealed a most wonderful allegory of the fall and rise of the human family.

Precious Ones, Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Ishmael, and Isaac were real persons. Yet, in the scriptures (see Galatians 4:22-31), we find that the apostle Paul, in speaking of the casting out of Hagar and Ishmael (Sarah’s Egyptian handmaid and Abraham’s first-born son – see Genesis 16:1-11), refers to that incident as an “allegory – the description of one thing under the image of another. Therefore, although the above-mentioned are real people, God also used them as symbols to teach us Biblical principles.

Chosen Ones, during Job’s prosperity, he was like a man “hedged” about in Eden. Satan, the accuser of the Brethren, intended to make man curse God by depriving him of his blessings. We can identify with Job. Today, the allegory is that Satan has caused many to fail God in their purpose – to turn away from God because He hasn’t yet answered their prayers. Because it seems as though Satan has deprived them of their blessings, they have become impatient, left the church, and walked away from God’s will for their lives. Man was put out of the Garden of Eden, yet he endeavored to worship God through sacrifices and offerings (Genesis 4). In the same way men are attempting to worship God today while living in sin. Remember, however, that God can only be worshipped “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

The Hiding Place from the Wind (conclusion)

Beloved, in conclusion of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – the converted soul is quickened by the life – the Holy Ghost – which is in Christ Jesus, for the scripture says that “In him was life” (John 1:4) and “[life] more abundantly” (John 10:10). Therefore, if you want to really live life to the fullest, it must be done in “the hiding place” of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Precious Ones, I saw this new movie that everyone in the country seems to be in a frenzy over – “The Passion.” This movie depicted the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Amidst the gory presentation, which was in line with scripture, one message was prevalent – the Blood of Jesus procured our salvation. Remember, scripture tells us that “without shedding of blood is no remission [of sin]” (Hebrews 9:22). Therefore, our only hope of being redeemed comes by “hiding” under Jesus’ Blood by faith, with confidence that it has enough power to “cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9). It was necessary for Jesus to suffer for our sins on Calvary, although He was innocent of any crime.

Chosen Ones, in conclusion, nothing less than God’s own plan will satisfy or avail. We know that the Word of God is true. There is no book other than The Bible that shows us the true way to God and heaven. The Bible is the only Book that “hides us from the winds of death.” The Bible will “protect” us from the storms that are coming in our lives – storms that have not yet been identified. In fact, Isaiah said, “a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind.” For those who trust Him, God will be “the shadow of a great rock in a weary land” (Isaiah 32:2).

Next week, I will write from a new subject. Until then, know this…

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – God has laid down a method that allows us to “hide” in Christ. That method is immersion in water in the Name of Jesus and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is my belief that many take this principle of baptism too lightly and live beneath their privileges of power and authority. When you are baptized in Jesus’ Name, His blood “hides” or protects you forever – till death do you part – from “the winds” of the penalty of sin. My opinion means nothing, but read what the apostle Paul wrote in the Book of Romans – “…so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized INTO HIS DEATH?” (Romans 6:3). Baptism in Jesus’ Name is effective until we physically die. In eternity, we won’t need His blood, because we will have new bodies! Paul goes on to say, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).

Chosen Ones, someone may ask, “How can I hide from the winds of adversity today through Jesus’ act of death on the cross 2,000 years ago?” The answer is simple – if a person acknowledges that he is a sinner before God and sees himself doomed to destruction because of that sin, and if that same person then accepts Christ as his sacrifice by faith, recognizing that Jesus died for every sin and transgression, then he is ready to receive the benefit of being “buried with him by baptism…into his death.” In other words, they must believe by faith that Jesus took their sins, problems, adversities, lack….TO HIS GRAVE!

Children of God, baptism in Jesus’ Name was the greatest, God-ordained act of salvation that you or I could have done! Our baptism is our “hiding place from the wind” of anything that will trouble us.

I will conclude this series next week. Until then, know this…

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – Let us consider how certain offices of the United States government operate – particularly the Office of Ambassador. Every ambassador of this country will say that the government has sent him/her to speak on behalf of the United States of America. In like manner, the ambassador of God will tell you what God has commanded him/her to say. Therefore, this is the principle concerning how a man or woman will know what Christ requires from His disciples (His students). Paul said, “[H]ow shall they hear without a preacher (ambassador of Christ)? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:14-15). God’s vessels are our “hiding places” also!

Chosen Ones, this principle teaches us how to get into Christ. Again, Paul said, “ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26). Notice two areas of teaching here: (1) How can we be “children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” if we have not been taught to “call on him in whom [we] have…believed?” (Romans 10:14) How could we have believed in Christ if we had not heard about Him? (2) We belong to God “by faith” and not by the keeping of days, months, new moons, or the Sabbath! So, if “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17), then the vessels God uses to share His thoughts with us must be God’s vessels to “hide us from winds” of false doctrines and misleading teachings.

Precious Ones, all of this teaches us that we must take full advantage of God’s provision by attending every service and taking every opportunity to learn the precepts and concepts of God. This teaching comes only through His anointed vessels (pastors, prophets, preachers, teachers, evangelists – see Ephesians 4:11-12).

Children of God, the scripture goes on to teach us that, “…as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27). This means that you do not get into Christ by shaking hands, by joining some system, or by feeling sorry that your mother is dead. The mourner’s bench does not do it. You get into Christ by being baptized into the Man called Jesus, who will be your Hiding Place forever! Therefore, having Jesus is better than having the answers!

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this,

I love you all SO very much.

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, the blood was shed down in the land of Ham, but remember that they did not escape Pharaoh until they crossed the water. Christ was crucified over 2,000 years ago, but according to God’s Word, none can escape until they cross the waters of baptism in Jesus’ Name (revisit John 3:5, Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16). This brings us to the point that baptism covers everyone from the “wind” of guilt, condemnation, and shame of sin. You have always heard me teach that a condemned soul is a non-productive soul. Well, this is true. However, I will guarantee each of you, by the authority of the scriptures, that if your heart is honest and you really repent with a determination to live forever after the Lord’s requirements – if you are immersed in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, heaven will open unto you and immediately the voice of God shall be heard in you.

Chosen Ones, when Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27), He was not speaking vain babblings! Those who are covered with His blood have an open communication with Jesus. They are “hidden” in the knowledge of Christ in the midst of every “wind” of adversity that the Devil sends. As sheep, they are protected from the enemy who tries to destroy them. In other words, the knowledge of Jesus is our “Hiding Place from the Wind” of deception that Satan attempts to bring unto us.

All of you are my Valentine.

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme entitled, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – There are some individuals who have, within themselves, the power to daunt those of God’s children who are unsure of their dwelling place in Christ. As Paul puts it, some Christians are “carried [away] with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they [deceitful leaders] lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14). This occurs when one does not have the full assurance that is found in the “hiding place in Jesus.” However, no one can overthrow those who are sold-out in their minds to trust Jesus, because no one can ever overthrow the Name of Jesus. When Jesus is your refuge (or “hiding place”), you will find out that He is “a very present help in [the time of] trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Precious Ones, although some may ridicule our experience in salvation, we must abide in Christ and finish our sojourn on this earth with joy. As Christians, we face the greatest ridicule concerning the sacrifices we willingly make in order to please our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To those among you who have heard the voice of God concerning the areas in your lives where He commands improvement; settle it today in your hearts to go through whatever it takes to please Jesus! It is worth every sacrifice. Paul said, “I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).

Chosen Ones, this is why I know that God ordains certain times when we must “hide in Him” – He does not want anyone to stand in the way of the glory that He has prepared for us!

I’ll write more later.

I love you all so very much.
