Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “God’s Masterpiece” – The modern purchasing plan beautifully illustrates the purpose of the Spirit, Soul, and Body and their final disposition. An article is purchased, the salesperson enters the amount in the computerized register, and the register prints out two copies of the transaction at once. It prints the price, date, and description of the article on what is called the original and the duplicate bill. Especially when a credit or debit card is used, the goods that are purchased receive the original copy, while the duplicate goes with the purchaser of the items (or the cardholder). If any questions arise upon the time goods are returned, as long as the holder of the duplicate bill furnishes their copy of the bill, judgment is rendered according to the records of the two bills. So it is with the Spirit, Soul, and Body – all three of “God’s Masterpieces.”
Precious Ones, the Body is the article of purchase. The Spirit and the Soul are the two bills – the original and the duplicate, respectively. The records of bodily action originate with the Spirit and are duplicated in the Soul. Paul explains this sequence of events in II Corinthians 1:23, “Moreover I call [which is this Body] God for a record [a spiritual recording] upon my soul [which is duplicated in the Soul].”
Chosen Ones, the lesson we are to learn thus far is that God created us so masterfully that when the Body reacts to something, if affects the Spirit and the Soul. That is why we must guard what we place in our bodies. Remember the reason Isaac gave Esau for wanting his hunger satisfied in Genesis 27:4? Isaac said, “make me savoury meat [appetizing meat], such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat [the Body]; that my Soul [the reaction of the Body’s satisfaction] may bless thee before I die.” Beloved, this is a good reason why Christians should not consume alcohol and drugs and overeat or eat foods that are not healthy. When your Body produces bad habits, your Spirit and Soul copies what you purchase with your lips!
I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…
I love you all so very much.
In His Love,
