The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – God has laid down a method that allows us to “hide” in Christ. That method is immersion in water in the Name of Jesus and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is my belief that many take this principle of baptism too lightly and live beneath their privileges of power and authority. When you are baptized in Jesus’ Name, His blood “hides” or protects you forever – till death do you part – from “the winds” of the penalty of sin. My opinion means nothing, but read what the apostle Paul wrote in the Book of Romans – “…so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized INTO HIS DEATH?” (Romans 6:3). Baptism in Jesus’ Name is effective until we physically die. In eternity, we won’t need His blood, because we will have new bodies! Paul goes on to say, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).

Chosen Ones, someone may ask, “How can I hide from the winds of adversity today through Jesus’ act of death on the cross 2,000 years ago?” The answer is simple – if a person acknowledges that he is a sinner before God and sees himself doomed to destruction because of that sin, and if that same person then accepts Christ as his sacrifice by faith, recognizing that Jesus died for every sin and transgression, then he is ready to receive the benefit of being “buried with him by baptism…into his death.” In other words, they must believe by faith that Jesus took their sins, problems, adversities, lack….TO HIS GRAVE!

Children of God, baptism in Jesus’ Name was the greatest, God-ordained act of salvation that you or I could have done! Our baptism is our “hiding place from the wind” of anything that will trouble us.

I will conclude this series next week. Until then, know this…

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – Let us consider how certain offices of the United States government operate – particularly the Office of Ambassador. Every ambassador of this country will say that the government has sent him/her to speak on behalf of the United States of America. In like manner, the ambassador of God will tell you what God has commanded him/her to say. Therefore, this is the principle concerning how a man or woman will know what Christ requires from His disciples (His students). Paul said, “[H]ow shall they hear without a preacher (ambassador of Christ)? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” (Romans 10:14-15). God’s vessels are our “hiding places” also!

Chosen Ones, this principle teaches us how to get into Christ. Again, Paul said, “ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26). Notice two areas of teaching here: (1) How can we be “children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” if we have not been taught to “call on him in whom [we] have…believed?” (Romans 10:14) How could we have believed in Christ if we had not heard about Him? (2) We belong to God “by faith” and not by the keeping of days, months, new moons, or the Sabbath! So, if “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17), then the vessels God uses to share His thoughts with us must be God’s vessels to “hide us from winds” of false doctrines and misleading teachings.

Precious Ones, all of this teaches us that we must take full advantage of God’s provision by attending every service and taking every opportunity to learn the precepts and concepts of God. This teaching comes only through His anointed vessels (pastors, prophets, preachers, teachers, evangelists – see Ephesians 4:11-12).

Children of God, the scripture goes on to teach us that, “…as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27). This means that you do not get into Christ by shaking hands, by joining some system, or by feeling sorry that your mother is dead. The mourner’s bench does not do it. You get into Christ by being baptized into the Man called Jesus, who will be your Hiding Place forever! Therefore, having Jesus is better than having the answers!

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, the blood was shed down in the land of Ham, but remember that they did not escape Pharaoh until they crossed the water. Christ was crucified over 2,000 years ago, but according to God’s Word, none can escape until they cross the waters of baptism in Jesus’ Name (revisit John 3:5, Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16). This brings us to the point that baptism covers everyone from the “wind” of guilt, condemnation, and shame of sin. You have always heard me teach that a condemned soul is a non-productive soul. Well, this is true. However, I will guarantee each of you, by the authority of the scriptures, that if your heart is honest and you really repent with a determination to live forever after the Lord’s requirements – if you are immersed in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, heaven will open unto you and immediately the voice of God shall be heard in you.

Chosen Ones, when Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27), He was not speaking vain babblings! Those who are covered with His blood have an open communication with Jesus. They are “hidden” in the knowledge of Christ in the midst of every “wind” of adversity that the Devil sends. As sheep, they are protected from the enemy who tries to destroy them. In other words, the knowledge of Jesus is our “Hiding Place from the Wind” of deception that Satan attempts to bring unto us.

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme entitled, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – There are some individuals who have, within themselves, the power to daunt those of God’s children who are unsure of their dwelling place in Christ. As Paul puts it, some Christians are “carried [away] with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they [deceitful leaders] lie in wait to deceive” (Ephesians 4:14). This occurs when one does not have the full assurance that is found in the “hiding place in Jesus.” However, no one can overthrow those who are sold-out in their minds to trust Jesus, because no one can ever overthrow the Name of Jesus. When Jesus is your refuge (or “hiding place”), you will find out that He is “a very present help in [the time of] trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Precious Ones, although some may ridicule our experience in salvation, we must abide in Christ and finish our sojourn on this earth with joy. As Christians, we face the greatest ridicule concerning the sacrifices we willingly make in order to please our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To those among you who have heard the voice of God concerning the areas in your lives where He commands improvement; settle it today in your hearts to go through whatever it takes to please Jesus! It is worth every sacrifice. Paul said, “I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18).

Chosen Ones, this is why I know that God ordains certain times when we must “hide in Him” – He does not want anyone to stand in the way of the glory that He has prepared for us!

I’ll write more later.

I love you all so very much.

The Hiding Place from the Wind (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “The Hiding Place from the Wind” – According to scripture, Jesus issues an invitation, “whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 22:17). Ask yourself the question, “Am I drinking the pure water of Jesus Christ or am I hiding behind and digesting the corrupted water of self-righteousness?” Beloved, will you let God have His way in your life? Is it your sincere desire to know His will?

Chosen Ones, let us build our confidence in our God by remembering that He is the only One who walked on this earth in sinful flesh and declared, “I am in the Father, and the Father in me” (John 14:11). Jesus Christ, the man, was nothing more and nothing less than the House of God! Jesus, the man, was the temporary dwelling place and tabernacle of God. However, Jesus is also the Almighty God because He went away from His natural, visible form and made a way for us to come into the spiritual Body of Christ. Remember, He said, “I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2). We who are in Jesus have a prepared place in God – we have an eternal “hiding place from the winds” of adversity.

Precious Ones, we are in Christ now! We know where we dwell. Nothing and no one can overthrow a man or woman who gets inside of Christ and knows where Jesus is at all times (with us).

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this – it is with all of my love and God-given energy that I share with you these letters.

I love you all SO very much.
