Take No Thought For Your Life Part 5

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “Take no Thought for Your Life” – Jesus said, “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin [or assist God in their creation]…Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” (Matthew 6:28, 30). “Clothing” something carries a more definitive meaning than merely covering it. The word “clothe” in Biblical type connotes God’s ordination. God ordained the grass to be green. He ordained (divinely appointed and authorized) the color, smell, and texture of the “lilies of the field.” Therefore, when God says that He clothes us, He has appointed and authored every blessing that we have received and will receive.

Precious Ones, God teaches us how He “clothes” His people – He will “appoint unto them that mourn…[He will] give unto them…the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” (Isaiah 61:3). So stop worrying! God has set the precise time when He will give us everything that He has planned for us to have. Trust Him. When He gives you what you want, you will praise Him, but it will be in His appointed time – not yours!

Chosen Ones, worrying is a deadly foe to the human anatomy. It destroys body tissue and strips us of the vitamins we need to be healthy. King Solomon recognized this, and wrote, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22). Let us remember the advice of Job, who stated this during his worst state of suffering, “All the days of my appointed time will I wait [until] my change come” (Job 14:14). Job’s faith was rewarded. He lived to see 140 years and four generations of change (see Job 42:16).

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…

I love you all so very much.
In His Love,

Pastor William L. McCoy
