Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “Take no Thought for Your Life” - if you remember, scripture records that a crowd of men came to visit a prophet. Food was short, yet God showed them how to multiply the little that they had. They all ate, and even had some left (II Kings 4:43-44). This shows us that sometimes, God puts us in situations where He will require us to have faith that the little we have will be multiplied. Our lack is not there for us to “take thought” (worry) about it. Rather, the lack in a Christian life is there to serve several purposes;1) To get our attention so that we can focus on the area of our lives where the next miracle is scheduled to take place; 2) When you are miraculously delivered from your lack, you can glorify God—you can praise Him for His manifested miracle in your life; 3) When those who know about your lack see how you were miraculously delivered, they will also trust God (see Daniel 3). When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into “a fiery furnace”; 1) it focused their attention (and Nebuchadnezzar’s attention) on the area of their lives that needed a miracle; 2) When God delivered them in such a miraculous way, they were able to glorify the Lord; 3) When King Nebuchadnezzar discovered how miraculously they had been delivered, he not only glorified their God, but he made a decree that only their God would be worshipped in his kingdom.
Precious Ones, King Nebuchadnezzar later promoted these three boys to high positions in his kingdom. Your lack has come to promote you into more blessings. So, ¬take no thought for your life. Think about your promotion, if you must think about something!
I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this,
I love you all SO very much.
In His love,
Pastor William L. McCoy
