He That Overcometh (continued)

Beloved, in continuance of our theme, “He that Overcometh” – the Name of God is revealed only to the overcomers. Even now as I write these lines, the Spirit is saying that not everyone who reads these words will understand that there is but one God. The Bible concurs. Scripture teaches us that “without controversy great is the mystery of godliness” (I Timothy 3:16). It is difficult to explain to someone, who does not have an overcomer’s revelation, that the same God who Jesus worshipped in the days of His flesh (as a Son) is the same God that we worship, since we have become “sons of God.” Jesus and our God are One and the same. Scripture records that Jesus said to Mary Magdalene “Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God” (John 20:17). I know that this is a mystery, and a great one, but this mystery is revealed to overcomers.

Precious Ones, if God’s deity is a mystery, then we must understand that God works in mysterious ways. That is not scripture, but it is true. Scripture does say that God has done many “works…and…wonders” (Psalm 78:11). Only overcomers understand that we must go through many mysterious trials and troubles that cannot be explained. We overcomers don’t have these challenges in our lives because of something we have done wrong. It’s not because our God is a cruel God who treats us unusually unjustly. Sometimes God waits to reveal the purpose of our obstacles, yet overcomers will constantly believe and proclaim that God is still good all the time, and all the time God is good.

Chosen Ones, we learn from this valuable lesson that we must overcome any doubt that will try to torment us through the flesh. Remember, our “Father knoweth what things [we] have need of, before [we, the overcomers] ask him” (Matthew 6:8).

I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this –

I love you all SO very much.
In His Love,

Pastor William L. McCoy
