Beloved, in continuance of our theme “Eternal Judgment” from our series the “Principles of the Doctrine of Christ” – according to the scriptures, “Hell” is a very real place, and, from the teachings of Jesus, “Hell fire” appears to be a continuous, everlasting place. Let us pay undivided attention to what He says – “it is better for thee to enter halt [lame] into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell…fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched [or put out]” (Mark 9:42-48). In other words, Beloved, the normal skin “worms” that eat the flesh off dead bodies will not be effective in Hell. You must remember that God did not prepare this “Eternal Judgment” for His human creation; “Hell” was prepared for “the devil and his angels.” Also remember, Beloved, that the only one who can sentence you to Hell, is the only one who knows if you deserve to go – and that is Jesus. This is why Matthew teaches us, “Then [meaning during eternity] shall he [not they] say also unto them [the candidates for hell]…Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).
Precious Ones, some ask the question quite often, “If God is as good a God as you Christians say, why does he feel it is necessary to send people to Hell who disobey his commandments and teachings? Why Hell? Can’t he send them somewhere else?” Beloved, the answer is simple – No, he cannot send sinners anywhere else in eternity! There is nowhere else for them to go in eternity but “Hell.” Remember, every space that God will inhabit (which is everywhere) shall be redone, redecorated with splendiferous beauty and perfection. In eternity, there will be nothing sinful. This is why John said, “I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away” (Revelation 21:1).
So, Chosen Ones, this letter ought to encourage you to continue to strive to live holy. Every sacrifice you are making right now to be obedient to “God’s Commandments and Teachings” is helping you escape the “Eternal Judgment” that violators will face in eternity.
I will write more on this subject next week. Until then, know this…
I love you all so very much.
In His Love,
Pastor William L. McCoy
