Beloved, in continuance of our theme from the “Principles of the Doctrine of Christ” series, entitled “Eternal Judgment” – it must be understood that in the Eternity Dispensation (the timeless period), God “will render unto every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life” (Romans 2:6-7). Notice that this life is only for those who seek glory, honor, and immortality. In other words, people who are shallow in their thinking, and who seek only after temporary perishable blessings, will never inherit eternal life.
Precious Ones, according to the apostle Paul, “unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, [God will render] indignation and wrath” (Romans 2:8). In other words, those who are disobedient to the truth and responsive to wickedness shall reap the anger and punishment (judgment) of the Lord. Paul further teaches that “tribulation and anguish [shall be] upon every soul of man that [has done] evil [without confession or repentance]…for there is no respect of persons with God. For as many as have sinned…shall be judged…in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel” (Romans 2:9-12, 16). Therefore, Beloved, we must be honest now, while we have a chance to redeem our sinful ways. There is nothing that can be kept secret from God. The Psalmist penned, “thou understandest my thought[s] afar off” (Psalm 139:2). There is no need for Christians to experience “eternal judgment.” If you have a healthy, consistent prayer life, all of your “secrets” should be discussed with God on a daily basis!
Chosen Ones, God will leave everyone without excuse. There will be no exceptions to the rule of the scriptures. Therefore, those of us who know what God requires should feel blessed that we can increase in knowledge, instead of abusing that knowledge or taking it for granted! Paul teaches us that “when the Gentiles [sinners], which have not the law [who are not thoroughly instructed in the Word], do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves [they shall be judged by the wrongs that they have knowingly committed]” (Romans 2:14). This clearly shows God’s way of judgment, even of those who “have not the law” (the concepts of the Bible). Hence, all will be judged!
I will write more on this subject next Sunday. Until then, know this,
I love you all SO very much,
In His Love,
Pastor William L. McCoy
